Events Calendar (December 2020 onwards)

We have links to groups who have booked us. Please contact them directly if you are interested in joining their retreats.

If you would like to join us on an individual retreat, please contact us. It is often possible to do this at the same time as a group has Strathean Retreat Centre booked for a retreat.

Regular events:

On Mondays there is a general yoga class with Gabrielle, from 5:30-6:45pm. Recommencing 18 January 2021.

On Tuesdays there is a beginners yoga class with John, from 6:30-7:45pm. Recommencing 19 January 2021.

All classes are suggested koha for Strathean of $10 per class ($5 unwaged), or $80 for a 10 week period, or $120 unlimited classes for 10 weeks.

2 -6 Dec Shikhaa & Mayank End of Year Retreat – meditation and movement, satsang and song. There are no steps, no stages, no attaining, no striving … just freedom! Explore Advaita Vedanta (non-dual wisdom) and how it illumines the way to live in the awareness of freedom and love. Shikhaa and Mayank are modern spiritual teachers who share this ancient knowledge in a relevant and accessible format, making meditation accessible, practical and fun.

18-20 Dec Spirit of Kirtan Camp lead by Shikhaa and Mayank. Share the joy of our collective power & unity through singing, drumming & meditation. The Spirit of Kirtan camp is a special opportunity to come together and discover the power of song and rhythm, through the Indian tradition of Kirtan (call & response singing of ancient Sanskrit mantras). Singing kirtan is a powerful method that uncovers our inherent love and joy because the vibration of the Sanskrit language is in tune with the subtle energies of the human nervous system.

12-14 March Be the Master of Your Freedom and Happiness Weekend Retreat, with Family Constellations facilitated by Maia, Hypnotherapy with Gabrielle, yoga and lead meditations and Satsang (universal truth) discussions. In Family Constellations, we’re unraveling entanglements and repeated patterns in a family system and looking at the root cause of an issue, presented by the participants, which most often didn’t originated in your own life, but was passed down by the ancestors. Often we have picked up beliefs and feelings early in life that subconsciously are limiting us; Hypnotherapy allows you to move through and past those limits so all aspects of you are working together, unfettered.

They offer space to unplug and reconnect with one’s own Self and the Heart of being. During the retreat, the participants observe mauna – noble silence, and are offered techniques and practices from various spiritual, contemplative and mystic traditions on quieting the mind and opening the heart. The retreat also features daily hatha yoga, practices to cultivate stillness of body and mind and inspirational talks on non-dual philosophy and yogic wisdom.

2-4 July Wellington Buddhist Centre retreat

30 July – 2 August Yoga Nidra Retreat with Ian and Alicia Melrose. This is an ancient Himalayan supine guided meditation, also called yogic sleep it is a spiritual path, also extremely helpful for relaxation and healing mento-emotional- physical stress patterns. The ‘goals’ of yoga nidra are peace, happiness and joy called samadhi, where there’s connection to everyone and everything.  Yoga Nidra enquires into the nature of everything and answers the question of who we are.

6-9 August Moving into Stillness with the Art of Mindfulness’ Rachel Tobin. Mindfulness, the art of accessing the power of the ‘now’, is a wonderful way of calming your body, replenishing your energy, and cultivating joy and well-being. If you have the tendency to lose yourself in over-thinking, or would simply relish time for balance and restoration, join Rachel in this beautiful and supportive setting, for a blend of mindfulness meditation and qi gong practices.
